Description of Simbi Ganga

Simbi Ganga is a military commander-in-chief. He is a warrior and protector spirit. Ganga is derived from a Kikongo term that may be translated as “chieftain” or “healer-priest.” Simbi spirits are a kind of water spirit. They are a huge and diversified family of serpents known as loa in Haitian Vodoun. Simbi is a loa that is depicted as a snake and stands for magic. The dead can be contacted via this loa.
