Description of The Lizard

The Lizard geoglyph depicts a desert lizard, this geoglyph has an elongated body, short legs, winding tail and prominent eyes. For the Nazca who lived in a harsh desert climate, lizards epitomized adaptations enabling survival in the harshest environments. Lizards found balance and thrived through efficient use of resources – ideals the Nazca also aspired to achieve. The Lizard geoglyph may have been etched to invoke the lizard’s spirit, to learn survival skills and find equilibrium with the dry, rugged coastal landscape.
