Description of Trapezoids

The Trapezoids‘ symmetrical shapes may represent Nazcan structures, hearths, or mountains, envisioned by the Nazca people who shaped the Trapezoids into the barren landscape.
The abundant arrowhead, zig-zag and trapezoidal geoglyph shapes likely represent elements key to Nazcan society – thatched roofs, hearths, irrigation canals, and sacred mountains, distilled into geometric symbols. Just as passersby recognized the meaning in these everyday patterns, the Nazca hoped the gods would acknowledge and bless their people by seeing familiar shapes in the land below. The trapezoids linked Nazcan life to the heavens.
